New Music: IAmSu & Jay Ant: Stoopid x Absolutely.

If you’re from the Bay, chances are you’ve heard a song within the last year by some non- Bay cat and thought, “that sounds like some Su/Jay Ant/ HBK shit.”  You felt like they could do it better, talked about folks biting our sound, but danced anyway. Take a listen to their new joint album, Stoopid, and those thoughts will float right back in. But, it’s not all they have to offer. While the duo is good for producing songs  that outsiders will compare to “Faded” and “Motto,” they also have a knack for sneaking a bit of chill and soul into a track.

Produced mostly by Suzy and Mr. Fuck it Smile, Stoopid features the two trading braggadocio-filled bars and  guest appearances from Erk Tha Jerk, Mike Dash-E, and Kool John. The 17-track project is a good intro to the producers/rappers for the newbies, and  an offering that will keep fans happy and make them want to revisit the artists’ discography.

Not sure if they are planning on forming a The Throne- like group (what would we call them?), but after hearing the project, folks might pick up on the chemistry and want to feature both of them at the same damn time. Example: Atlanta rapper and XXL Freshmen 10 alum, Donnis just released “Absolutely,” featuring both IAMSU and Jay Ant.

Download Stoopid here. Listen to Absolutely below. And as always, Get It Back.
