Music Video: Kurse Krew: “Yuh Know”

The Kurse Krew is a trio of young emcees from Oakland, CA. I’ve haven’t steeped myself in their recorded work, but their live shows have caught my attention. I first saw them perform at a high school Ethnic Studies conference at Cal Berkeley a couple years ago and was taken aback by their ability to get an academic setting so hyped. Most recently I saw them open up for Do DAT at Beti Ono Gallery last month, and was again amazed by their energy and charisma.

I’ve included a song and a new video in this post to give you a taste of their flavor. “Run” is a very orchestral triumphant track, whereas “Yuh Know” conjures up old school New York hip-hop as they go in over Big Daddy Kane’s classic “Ain’t No Half Steppin’”. These cats are dope. Partake.

As Kurse Krew’s manager, i want to thank Coolhand Luke for writing about Bay Area’s own, home grown emcees. Your words let’s us know that hard work never goes unseen. Kurse Krew was very excited to see this post. Thank you! http://www.KurseKrew.com
