Oakland Tech High School alumni Marshawn Lynch and Josh Johnson are back in The Town for their 6th annual Fam 1st Football Camp in service of Oakland youth. Talking to the duo, it’s clear that they care deeply about Oakland and attribute much of their success to the character traits they developed here. They are not overly-politicized activist types on soap boxes, they are fun loving cats from the streets engaging with their community.
Marshawn, Josh, and Mistah FAB chopped it up with DNas on Streets Is Talking Radio today while the E-Team was the highlighted musical group. In other words, it was an Oakland Tech reunion. And it is at Oakland Tech that the 6th annual Fam 1st Football Camp will take place on Saturday July 14th. The goal? According to Marshawn it’s to help create a foundation for young talent that didn’t exist when he was a BG.
The list of events is not limited to Saturday’s football camp however. The duo are also hosting a community talent show Thursday night at the Kaiser Center, a bowling night Friday night at The Albany Bowl, and an after party on Saturday night at SF’s 330 Ritch. The fliers are below, as is a link to an exclusive 38thnotes interview filmed live at the Fam 1st Football camp a couple years ago. Register your child for the camp HERE.
