Video: Jennah Bell’s Live Performance at The BET Awards

We’ve been huge fans of Jennah Bell since we got put on game via her BART “Subway Series” produced by Rafael Casal of The Getback last year. We’ve posted interviews, music, and videos, and can’t get enough of the acoustic soul wonder-child representing Oakland, CA. Well last night, thousands more were let in on the secret when she performed live at the BET Awards during a Music Matters slot.

I watched the BET Awards in text form via my Twitter feed, and it was jokes and non-stop roasting all night! Then Jennah stepped to the mic and the haters fell silent. All of the sudden, there were curious tweets  about how a true musician was let on the stage at such an event. After all, the BET Awards are infamous for being filled with buffoonery, head shaking moments, and overall disgust at the state of black pop music in America. In this context, Jennah Bell’s beautiful voice and song writing skills were a welcome breath of fresh air. Unfortunately, as is customary with “Music Matters” performers, they cut to commercial a minute into her performance of “Chapter 3: The Hatchet” with Rene Del Fierro.

Below we have posted her complete performance.  We’re applauding you loud and proud Jennah! Stay close as we’ll be posting an exclusive video interview with Jennah very soon!
