When anything from Wallpaper hits the 38th Notes account, I click. It started when I heard “Combination Pizza Hut and Taco Bell” and their mashup of Dorrough and Fela Kuti. Yes, they went there. Then I saw Wallpaper in concert and declared myself a fan. So much a fan that I spent my 25th Birthday getting elbowed at Slim’s because everyone was #STUPiDFACEDD. I doubt this song will get you hurt while partying, it’s more of a happy feelgood groove.
Quick breakdown: Donwill is part of the group Tanya Morgan. He released his solo album, Don Cusack In High Fidelity, last year. That album included “Love Junkie” featuring Peter Hadar and Harlem’s Cash. Then came the remixes. Donwill’s “Love Junkie (Wallpaper Remix)” debuted last week and is featured on the Love Junkie EP, which dropped in March. The Park is an awesome band from the Bay making moves…Did you see them with Freddie Gibbs on Last Call with Carson Daily? And, well you know about Wallpaper.
