Overcoming hate and derision is a common theme in hip-hop, but it’s because success really does breed envy in environments that aren’t used to witnessing success. It takes a lot to transcend negativity, but it’s a beautiful struggle too. On “Can’t Stop Now” Erk concedes that he’s blessed to even have nay sayers. It has been said time and time again that if you don’t have haters, you’re not doing anything of note.
