New Music: Netta Brielle: “The One” (prod. by Erk Tha Jerk)

April 25th, 2010  |  Published in Music

One thing I love about Netta B. is that I never have to ask, “Who’s song is this?” Netta can freak any type of song, while still scrawling her signature 80s style all over it. Unlike a lot of artists she has a vision that governs her music.  Her desire to capture a modern-day retro sound and aesthetic are clear, as is her ability to carry it out. The other thing she has to her advantage is great working relationships with local producers Traxamillion, Beat Roc and Erk Tha Jerk, who seem to understand that vision.
“The One” has an almost brooding vibe, but the sentiments are hopeful. It may seem like an odd confluence of emotions, but it perfectly paints the nervous uncertainty of trying to find love. I must admit however, that it’s a trip to hear about Netta’s quest for the perfect man,  when I know more than a few that would love an audition! lol. Enjoi gentlemen.
