Opening Night is finally here, and I am extremely juiced for the Raiders season to kick off. I have been waiting ever since the last play of last year for this moment, and it’s finally here. Like Coolhand said the other day, today may be our last moment of optimism for a while, and I intend on enjoying it. No matter what happens, I will always love my Raiders, but they could make it really special tonight by beating the Chargers and showing the NFL that the Raiders are not to be taken lightly this year. Let’s face it, our fans are more feared than our football team! That has to change this year.

For some of you die hard Raider fans, here are a couple links on the upcoming season from blogs that have a little more knowledge than me. First, the guys at the Silver and Black Report always do a great job with analysis and provide some interviews with different players, which is nice. For overall coverage on the Raiders, check out Silver and Black Pride, which seems to represent more of the fans perspective.

Finally, ESPN wrote a good article about Nnamdi Asomugha today (yes you read that right, ESPN gave the Raiders a little love). One of the highlights of the article is the fact that he still drives a 97′ Nissan Maxima, despite just signing a $45 million contract. It’s a great read.

Only a couple more hours until game time, so put on your Raiders gear, drink a couple beers, and get juiced!
