Ice Cube Represents The Raider Nation

September 4th, 2009  |  Published in Uncategorized

Our team has not been able to shake its losing ways the last few years, but the Raiders still have some of the most loyal fans in the world. One of these fans is the famous rapper Ice Cube, who became a Raider fan at a very young age, and has kept his loyalty strong. Cube is so loyal that he has recorded a special song called “Raider Nation,” which will be played on Opening Night (Monday Night Football) right before they cue up the traditional “Hells Bells” by ACDC. I searched high and low for a link to the song and came up empty, but I did find an interview he did with Greg Papa when he visited the Raiders practice facility in Alameda.
Not only did Cube make a song for us, but he is also going to direct a documentary on the Raiders move to LA and their influence on Cali culture. This should be particularly interesting because NWA was coming to prominence at that time, and Raider hats were an iconic piece of their look. I am looking forward to hearing both the song and watching the documentary in the near future. Cube, keep holding it down in SOCAL for all the real Raider fans
