Green Day Covers Rolling Stone Magazine

Though I have Green Day’s independent debut album on cassette in a box somewhere, I have not really kept up with them. Regardless, they are East Bay legends who live in The Town and record down in Jingletown ESO, so I gotta show love. Below is a track from their new album 21st Century Breakdown entitled “21 Guns.” I chose this joint because the always political Billie Joe’s plea of “Lay down your arms” is relevant to both Oakland’s struggle with violence and America’s obsession with war.
